Zero Piracy Commitment
Blockbuster operates strictly under digital copyright laws and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). We do not host, re-stream, or distribute unauthorized copyrighted media files.
1. Public Domain Standards
Our playback engine only unlocks titles that meet recognized legal public domain criteria in the United States and international jurisdictions, including:
- Works published before 1929: All creative motion pictures published prior to January 1, 1929 are irrevocably in the worldwide public domain.
- Notice Defect / Failure to Renew: Select works published between 1929 and 1977 that failed required copyright notice or renewal registration under historical statutory mandates (e.g., Night of the Living Dead [1968], Charade [1963]).
- Open Institutional Archives: Streaming manifests are delivered strictly through established archives such as the Internet Archive (Archive.org) and Wikimedia Commons.
2. Content Removal & Takedown Notices
If you are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe that any indexed content or reference infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a formal notification to our Designated Copyright Agent.
